High pressure is the most effective way to cut down on the amount
of water used in toilets, while draining the bowl perfectly.
The high pressure WC is the same as a classical WC, except that
it is provided with a flexible seat designed around a rigid centre.
When the toilet cover is closed it automatically locks onto the
bowl unit which acts as seal. The bowl becomes airtight and this
helps drain out the waste water.
We made films to demonstrate the advantages of the high pressure
WC: light matters like cigarette butts and paper are the most difficult
to drain out, we performed tests using pieces of polystyrene,
which are even more difficult.
When the full contents of the tank (more than 8 litres)
are not enough to drain out the waste water in a classical WC, high
pressure WC require less than 2 litres.
